This is the third volume in the series “Qatar and the Arabian Gulf States in the Documents of the Indian Archives”, a selection of documents from the National Archives in Delhi. As introduced in the first volume, the collection consists mainly of correspondence, reports, and complaints written by political residents, agents, sailors, tribal sheikhs, and Gulf rulers regarding events that occurred in Qatar and the Gulf states during the period (1876-1881).

This volume includes 237 documents, covering topics such as the presence and business concerns of Indian merchants in Qatar and the dealings of Sheikh Jassim and the Ottoman authorities with them. A significant number of these documents also discuss the conditions of several Qatari tribes, such as Al Hajri, Al Naimi, Al Kuwari, and Al Qubaisi, and their affairs in Al Bidda, Al Zubara, and Bahrain, as well as the matter of Khor Al Udaid, the British authorities' stance on it, and incidents of piracy along the Qatari coast and in Khor Al Udaid.

The volume also contains a collection of condolence letters received by Sheikh Jassim following the death of his father.
